  • Gary Flake

    Founder and CEO - Clipboard Inc.

    Keynote presenter, Dr. Gary William Flake is the CEO of Clipboard Inc., a seed stage Internet startup that allows users to save, organize and share their favorite parts of the web. Prior to founding Clipboard, Gary held executive positions at Microsoft, Yahoo!, and Overture, where he managed applied research teams, corporate-wide innovation efforts, and helped guide corporate strategy.  Gary has filed over 150 patents and has numerous publications spanning over 20 years which have focused on machine learning, data mining, and complex systems. Gary has also appeared in leading national publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time Magazine, Forbes Magazine, Nature Science, CNET News, Computer World, Fast Company, TechCrunch and Mashable, and has presented at leadership events such as the TED Conference. Gary earned his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Maryland and has served on numerous academic committees and university advisory boards. Gary wrote the award-winning book, The Computational Beauty of Nature, which is used in college courses worldwide.  Gary was also the 2010 winner of the World Technology Award in the category of individual achievement in software, and was named one of the "Creativity 50" in 2009.

  • Andy Liu

    Co-founder and CEO - BuddyTV

    Andy Liu is CEO of BuddyTV, the largest independently held TV site on the Internet. Prior to BuddyTV, Mr. Liu served as President and CEO of NetConversions from 1999-2004 prior to its sale to aQuantive and served as VP and GM of its Site Optimization unit from 2004-2005. He is also a founder of a non-profit that is focused on technology in developing countries and is very passionate about entrepreneurship.

    Mr. Liu brings deep experience in building companies, site optimization, viral marketing, SEO, community building and product development. In 2003, he was named to Puget Sound Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.” In 2010, he was named Best Angel Investor by Seattle 2.0 in 2010 having invested in over 40 early stage deals including Cheezburger Network, EveryMove, Chirpify, Bonanza, Judy's Book, and Evo.  Mr. Liu received his MBA from Wharton.

  • Bruce Milne

    CEO - Corum Group Ltd.

    Prior to starting Corum in late 1985, Bruce Milne owned three software firms including, RoseSoft, and Accountants Microsystems, Inc. (AMI), the nation's largest supplier of vertical market microcomputer applications to practicing accountants. He raised over $11 million in equity to build AMI to #52 on the INC. 500 during the company's first five years.  

    Bruce has spent over 28 years in the computer industry. He started with UNISYS as one of the youngest managers in their International Division and progressed to Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) as National OEM Development Manager.  Bruce was instrumental in developing dealer recruiting, training, and planning. He was part of the team that developed the DEC distributor channel and managed the software effort for the DEC Computer Stores, OEMs and dealers. In 1978, Bruce joined Alpine Data Systems, a large, national mini-computer VAD, as Vice President. 

    His industry participation includes serving as a past advisory board member for Apple, COMDEX, Microsoft, and IBM.  Bruce is the founder and past chairman of the Washington Software Association and a past director of the Washington Technology Center at the University of Washington. He has also served on various other civic and corporate boards and advisory councils, including the Governor's Business Advisory Board, the Puget Sound Business Journal Advisory Board, and several software companies. Bruce is one of the leading experts in the software and Internet merger field, and is a frequent author and lecturer on valuations and software acquisitions. Through Corum he has published three books including Power Planning: Structuring Your Software Company for Success.  

    Bruce is an honors graduate in International Business from the University of Washington, and holds an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.

  • Cameron Myhrvold

    Founding Partner - Ignition Partners

    Cameron is a Founding Partner of Ignition. He invests in software companies and especially big data, mobile & social solutions for the Enterprise. Cameron represents Ignition as director on the boards of Cloudmark, Stellr, SEVEN Networks, Symplified, Topsy and Continuuity. He also acts as Ignition observer on the board of Splunk (NASDAQ: SPLK).   He previously served on the boards of Zenprise (acquired by Citrix), Azaleos (acquired by Avanade), Likewise Software (acquired by EMC), Consera (acquired by Hewlett Packard), Rendition Networks (acquired by Opsware) and RLX Technologies (acquired by Hewlett Packard).

    Prior to Ignition, Cameron spent thirteen years with Microsoft Corporation, most recently as Vice President of the Internet Customer Unit, where he was responsible for building business relationships with network operators and a broad range of telecommunications providers. Cameron was responsible for setting strategy and building relationships with such global telecommunications providers as NTT, AT&T, Comcast, Cisco, Qualcomm, British Telecom and Deutsche Telecom.

    Prior to this job Cameron created the Developer Relations Group at Microsoft, which evangelized Windows and Microsoft’s other operating system technologies to the independent software vendors and third-party developer community. This effort eventually became a 320-member team with an annual budget of $65 million, and was responsible for revenue of over $400 million and recruited a community of 44,000 independent software vendors to develop Windows software.

    Cameron co-founded Dynamical Systems Inc, to develop multitasking operating systems for the PC, which he sold to Microsoft in 1986.

    Cameron received his Bachelors degree from the University of California at Berkeley.

  • Chris Barrow

    President, CEO & Director - EagleView Technologies

    Chris Barrow has been the president and CEO of EagleView Technologies since 2008 and is now the CEO of the new organization formed by the January 2013 merger of EagleView Technologies and Pictometry International Corp.  He has over 20 years of experience in software, technology and services sectors and most recently served as CEO of a publicly traded technology company in Orlando. He has also served as Executive VP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development for several companies in the US and Asia, including senior sales and business development roles at Sitel, 3Com and Compaq.

  • Chris DeVore

    General Partner - Founder's Co-op

    Chris DeVore is a serial entrepreneur turned venture investor at Founders Co-op, a $10MM seed-stage venture fund he co-founded in 2008. Chris's early-stage investments include Urban Airship, AppFog, Remitly, GroupTalent, LendUp and Apptentive.

    Previously, Chris co-founded Judy's Book, a local social search platform backed by Softbank and Ignition Partners, and also served as VP of eBusiness at Sapient Corporation (NASDAQ: SAPE). Chris arrived at Sapient via the acquisition of Adjacency, an e-Commerce consultancy he and his partners bootstrapped to profitability serving clients like Apple, Nordstrom, and Virgin. Earlier roles include leadership of outdoor retailer Patagonia's eCommerce business and senior product management and strategic planning roles at McCaw Cellular (acquired by AT&T) and at AT&T (NYSE: T). Chris received his BA in American Studies from Yale and attended Stanford's Graduate School of Business. He lives in Wallingford with his wife Emily and two children.

  • David Geller

    CEO - Eyejot

    David Geller is a highly experienced entrepreneur and technology veteran. He founded WhatCounts, a prominent email service provider (ESP), which served Costco, Microsoft, Alaska Airlines, REI, Ziff-Davis Publishing, The Seattle Times and numerous other prominent firms. He sold the company in 2010. Geller also founded Eyejot, a leading video mail company with customers in over 100 countries. He was the principal architect of the platform and authored the two Eyejot mobile iOS apps currently on sale in the iTunes App Store. He was CTO and angel investor at Altrec, an early player in online commerce targeting outdoor enthusiasts. Geller was also Director of Engineering at Starwave, a Paul Allen Internet company famous for its development of leading sites such as ESPN.com and ABCNews.com. It later merged with Infoseek and the combined entity was acquired by Disney. Geller has worked on several book publishing projects, authored technical articles and has been an expert witness for litigation involving software patents. He's currently running a new startup named Spryly which he expects to launch later this year.

  • Dean Jacobson

    Principal - Accel-KKR

    Dean Jacobson is a Principal at Accel-KKR. Prior to joining Accel-KKR, Dean was a Vice President with Summit Partners where he was involved in private equity investments in the technology and financial services sectors. Prior to Summit, Dean worked as a Director of Corporate Development at Vonage, a leading provider of digital phone services. Before Vonage, Dean was an Associate Director at 3i, a leading global private equity firm where he focused on the firm's later-stage technology investing practice in the United States. Dean started his career in the technology group at Robertson Stephens where he worked with growing companies in the semiconductor, hardware, storage and digital media sectors.

    Currently Dean is a Director of Infinisource, KANA Software, Layered Technologies, Pinstripe and North Plains. Dean is a former Director of the Endurance International Group (sold to a private equity consortium in 2011 for $1.0 billion).

    Dean received his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he was an Arjay Miller scholar and his A.B. from Harvard University.

  • Enrique Godreau III

    Managing Director - GSharp Ventures

    Enrique has been active in the information technology industry for 30 years. His experience includes 15 years in research, product development, and business management and 15+ years in venture capital investing. He has a strong and consistent record of performance, crafting and executing innovative strategies with great people at leading technology-based companies including Adobe, Gartner, and Xerox PARC. In 1996, he cofounded Voyager Capital, a Seattle-based, early-stage tech venture capital firm where as an active director and champion of select entrepreneur’s and start-ups, he funded several market leaders that created substantial value. Enrique cofounded GSharp Ventures in 2012, a consulting, investment, and advisory firm that blends venture capital and private equity via a new model called Venture Equity. His expertise in entrepreneurism ranges from new business formation to value realization. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

    Geoff Entress, Vice Chairman, is a Venture Partner with Voyager Capital and Founders Co-op. An active angel investor, Geoff has invested in over 50 Pacific Northwest companies. He sits on the boards of drugstore.com, Liquid Planner, Bonanza and Judy’s Book, and is a board observer for several others. Geoff is also a member of the Advisory Board for the University of Washington Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Advisory Board for the Donald H.   • Gowri Shankar

    Venture Partner - Naya Ventures

    Gowri serves as a venture partner with Naya and focuses on investments on the West Coast. Gowri has an established track record of building and growing companies at the intersection of mobile, infrastructure and content for over twenty years. He was on the founding team at Sprint PCS and pioneered both direct and online wireless sales in the early 90's. Most recently he served as President and CEO of SinglePoint, a mobile marketing agency focussed at media companies where he pioneered the interactive TV through mobile with NBC Universal, MTV, CBS and Disney.

    Gowri has significant international experience having grown companies in both Europe and India. Gowri serves on the board for Skedi, Carbon Credits International and is an advisor to ReQall, Earth 911 and Zoomingo.

    Gowri holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Madras and a MBA from University of Missouri, Kansas City. He is an avid bicyclist and a NPR junkie.

  • Jason A. Farber

    Jason Farber focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other business transactions. His industry experience includes creative and entertainment companies ranging from digital media to toys and games, and mobile content and services, traditional industries like fishing, food, manufacturing and distribution, and regulated industries like student loan finance, and health care. He has particular experience with private equity, auction processes, profit-nonprofit transactions and directors' duties in transactions, and is a frequent speaker on topics related to mergers and acquisitions.

    He has been covering the technology beat in the region for more than a decade, working for the Eastside Journal and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer before co-founding TechFlash.com, the Puget Sound Business Journal’s technology news site, where he worked as executive editor.

    A native of Wooster, Ohio, he got his start in journalism in high school, with a part-time job compiling obituary and election information for the Akron Beacon Journal, where his mom was a reporter. He graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in history, earning Phi Beta Kappa recognition and Academic All-American honors in soccer.

    John’s interests include backpacking, bicycling, running and watching English Premier League soccer. He lives in Seattle with his wife Holly, son Jack and dog Henry.

  • John Morrow

    John Morrow joined Vertafore in June 2006 and is senior vice president, corporate development and legal affairs.  Mr. Morrow is responsible for mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments and partnerships, UK operations, legal matters, data privacy, IT security and compliance for the company.  Mr. Morrow was previously a partner with Heller Ehrman LLP, a major international law firm, where he represented public and private technology companies in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, licensing and strategic partnership transactions, corporate governance, and general business matters. Mr. Morrow joined the firm as a result of its merger with Venture Law Group, a leading Silicon Valley-based law firm focused on representing technology companies. Prior to joining Venture Law Group, Mr. Morrow was an associate at Baker & Hostetler LLP.  He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from DePauw University and a juris doctorate, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

    Prior to joining Frazier Technology Ventures as a General Partner in 2004 Len spent 16 years in the software industry.  He most recently served as a senior vice president at RealNetworks (RNWK-Nasdaq). Len managed the Media Systems Division from 1997-1999, releasing 4 major versions of the RealSystem software platform and generating the majority of the company's 100%+ annual revenue growth during the period.

    From 1999 through 2001 Len's team pioneered RealNetworks entry into non-PC markets, developing products and technology integration agreements with Nokia mobile phones, Sony Playstation game consoles and numerous television set-top-boxes.  Prior to this, Len was President of Creative Multimedia, Inc., a developer and publisher of CD-ROM/Internet products.  Creative co-developed CDROM/Internet reference products with Time-Warner, USNews, Viacom and Billboard before its acquisition in 1995 with TBG Holdings NV.  In addition, he led the product management on PCTools utility software for several years at Central Point Software before it was acquired by Symantec (SYMC- Nasdaq). He began his career at Safeco Insurance Company (SAFC- Nasdaq) developing financial models for personal computer automation of the independent insurance industry.

    Len is a trustee of Seattle Country Day School and has coached youth soccer for nine years.  He enjoys spending time trying to keep up with his wife and four children and runs and plays soccer occasionally, if slowly. Len graduated magna cum laude from the Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah with BS degrees in finance and economics.

  • May McCarthy

    Co-Founder & CEO - PHACTS, sold to CareFusion

    Since 1982, May. McCarthy has founded and grown several successful companies in a variety of industries. She has also worked for Fortune 500 companies such as Johnson & Johnson and Boeing in sales and capital equipment purchasing and barcode logistics design.

    In 2007, Ms. McCarthy co-founded PHACTS (Pharmacy Automation Consulting & Technologies), LLC, and was named Managing Member, President and CEO. PHACTS provides Enterprise Wide Pharmacy Inventory Management Solutions for Hospitals and Healthcare Systems worldwide, and was acquired by CareFusion in April 2012.

    Additional companies that Ms. McCarthy co-founded include: Integrated Healthcare Systems, Inc. (IHS), now known as Talyst, a pharmacy automation company with over 250 installations and 145 employees, LDNS, the first reseller of telecommunications services to over 2,500 hospitals nationwide, and Scarlet Ribbon, Inc., a fashion show retailer with 60 weekly shows in the Northwest, franchises in 3 states, and over 250 employees.

    Ms. McCarthy is an angel investor and advises software start-up companies in the Northwest. She is also involved in a variety of philanthropic and educational service organizations. Ms. McCarthy is an advisory board member and Business Plan Competition judge and mentor, a member of the Northwest Entrepreneur Network, a past board member of the Better Business Bureau of Washington and Oregon, an advisory board member for NW Family Life, and an advisory board member for Seattle University Entrepreneurship Center.

    Ms. McCarthy earned a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude, from Seattle University with a major in Marketing. She later earned Certificates in Strategic Leadership from Antioch University and Entrepreneurship from Seattle Central College.

  • Michael Wetter

    Director, Corporate Development - Microsoft

    Michael Wetter is a Director in the Corporate Development group at Microsoft, responsible for execution of acquisitions, strategic investments, joint ventures and divestiture transactions.  Michael joined Microsoft’s Corporate Development group in 2007 and currently focuses on opportunities for Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business, Windows Phone Division and Online Services Division.  Prior to joining Microsoft, Michael was an investment banker in JPMorgan’s Mergers & Acquisitions group, focused on technology and digital media transactions.

  • Nat Burgess

    President - Corum Group Ltd.

    Nat Burgess serves as Conference Chair for the World Financial Symposiums, and President of the Corum Group. He has a track record of successful M&A deals with Microsoft, Google, Intel, Symantec, BMC, Fiserv and many others, all driven by strategic technology, as well as extensive experience putting deals together with private equity firms. In addition to his M&A work, Nat is admitted to the Washington State Bar, and is an active angel investor in the software and Internet communities.

    Prior to joining Corum in 1996, Nat worked as an analyst in the Strategic Development Division of Morgan Stanley's M&A group, focusing on cross-border acquisitions of U.S. and European companies by Japanese firms, and on financings by large Japanese public companies. Nat then moved to Morgan Stanley's Tokyo office, where he reported directly to the President of Morgan Stanley, Japan Ltd. and focused exclusively on cross-border M&A.   During law school, Nat interned for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Enforcement Division, and worked as the director of online business development for Activision. Nat also co-founded Postcard Software, an early Internet company that linked screen savers and web sites.

  • Rob Schram

    Rob has over 30 years of executive and entrepreneurial experience in multiple technologies: Integrated circuit testing, industrial process automation and control, communications software, security software, and energy software and services.

    Rob has founded and sold several companies and engaged in two IPOs. He was most recently CEO of Evergreen Fuel Technologies, Inc. in the energy sector. Rob is a broadly skilled strategic development professional with a proven reputation for targeting, negotiating and developing profitable ventures and a demonstrated ability to successfully analyze an organization's critical business requirements, identify deficiencies and opportunities, and develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for enhancing competitiveness, increasing revenues, and improving customer relationships.

  • Sendur Sellakumar

    VP Investment Banking - Morgan Stanley

    Sendur Sellakumar has been in the technology and investment banking industries for the last 15 years. All of Sendur's experience has been focused on enterprise, consumer and cloud software. Sendur started his career in technology as a software developer working in C/C++/Java environments across client-server and web service architectures. He worked in large cap technology firms as well as startups. In particular, he has helped to bring multiple products to market in the healthcare and CAD software markets.


    Sendur currently works at Morgan Stanley as an investment banker covering the software sector. Sendur advises C-level executives and senior management on IPOs, capital structure, and mergers and acquisitions. He has led the execution of several technology IPOs, including Fortinet, Tesla, Avago, ServiceSource, Responsys, InvenSense, AVG and Splunk. He has worked on several software and technology M&A transactions, representing over $15 billion in aggregate value.

    Sendur received an M.B.A from Cornell University where he was a Phi Beta Kappa with Distinction. He received his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego.

  • Shalendra Chhabra

    Product Manager - Clipboard, Inc.

    Shalendra Chhabra (Shalen) is responsible for product management, marketing, press relations and user communication at Clipboard, a Bellevue based startup. Prior to Clipboard, Shalendra held Program Manager positions at Swype (acquired by Nuance for $102.5 million in 2011) and Microsoft. Shalendra was a top finalist at Microsoft Loaned Executive Program 2010 and George Zachary’s/Charles River Ventures hunt for the VC apprentice at TechCrunch Disrupt in September 2012. Shalendra’s erdos number is 3 and his hobbies include entrepreneurship lifestyle, traveling, trying new restaurants, teaching, independent film making, dancing, and skydiving. 

  • Stuart DePina

    President - Envestnet | Tamarac

    Chief Executive with proven track record for building cohesive teams, exceeding established goals, and creating world-class organizations.  Extensive technology industry leadership experience includes leadership in building sales organizations, marketing, product development and implementation. 

    Since 2007, Stuart has served in the role of the Chief Executive for Tamarac Inc. (currently Envestnet | Tamarac) an early stage Seattle based SaaS business, which was sold to Envestnet a publicly traded company in May of 2012 for a high-multiple exit.  During his tenure Stuart has led Tamarac to greater than 60% year-over-year revenue growth as well as high profitability.

    As a SaaS business, Tamarac is the leading provider of technology enabled wealth management solutions used by investment advisors.   Tamarac develops a suite of software solutions which enables advisors to better manage client outcomes and strengthens their practice.

    Prior to joining Tamarac, Stuart was the Chief Executive Officer for Who’s Calling, Inc., another early stage SaaS business which enabled advertisers to track the marketing effectiveness (ROI) of their online and offline marketing campaigns by tracking client conversion metrics.  Stuart led the sale of the company to a Private Equity firm for a successful shareholder exit.

    Earlier in his career, Stuart was the Chief Financial Officer for Ticketmaster, which is the leading provider of automated ticketing services worldwide with over 7,000 clients, including entertainment facilities, promoters and professional sports franchises. Ticketmaster also manages a local portal and electronic commerce company that provides in-depth local content and services to consumers online.

    Stuart started his career at KPMG holding various positions including Partner, serving multiple clients in the Investment Services, Technology and Entertainment segments.

    During his career Stuart has successfully managed multiple Initial Public Offerings and has extensive experience in several Mergers and Acquisitions.

  • Tom Huseby

    Managing Partner - SeaPoint Ventures

    In 1997, Tom formed SeaPoint Ventures.  Prior to forming SeaPoint Ventures, Tom co-founded and was the first CEO of Metawave Communications Corporation, a manufacturer of cellular infrastructure equipment. Before Metawave, he was the first president and CEO of Innova Corporation, a manufacturer of digital millimeter wave radios. Tom spent the first seventeen years of his career at Raychem Corporation where he held a variety of executive positions in Europe, South America and the U.S. His last position at Raychem was Group Vice President of the Industrial Products Group.

    Tom is currently Chairman of the Board of Airspan, Glympse, Zumobi, nFluence, Mojix, and PhotoBucket and a board member of  Kineto Wireless.  He is past chairman of Qpass, and SNAPin Software, and past board member of Tegic Communications. In addition to his duties at SeaPoint Ventures, Tom serves as a venture partner at Covera Ventures, Oak Investment Partners, and Voyager Capital.

    Tom has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a BSIE from Columbia University and an MBA from Stanford University.

    Mr. Carter's technology background includes a variety of management positions with the Burroughs Corporation (later Unisys). Later, as vice president of a Wall Street investment firm and as principal in a regional venture firm, Mr. Carter raised capital for ventures in computer hardware, software, and biotechnology. As an executive for a Seattle-based archival storage software company he attracted venture capital and assisted with the eventual acquisition of the company by a larger competitor. As president of InfoMatrix, and later Discovery Sales + Marketing, Mr. Carter provided sales and marketing consulting support to executives of emerging software companies. 

    He joined Corum in 1997 and has successfully managed numerous software company mergers and acquisitions worldwide. He graduated with Honors from Seattle University with a BA in Business.
